Tour Details

Your guide and driver will greet you in the lobby of your Beijing hotel and chauffeur you to the renowned Mutianyu Great Wall. The approximately 1.5 - hour drive offers a chance to soak in the scenery. Once you reach the Mutianyu Great Wall, take the cable car or ski lift to ascend. This allows you to enjoy a relaxed exploration, giving you ample time to be in awe of this extraordinary structure and the surrounding, verdant hillsides.

The Mutianyu Great Wall was initially constructed and later restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), built upon the remains of a wall from the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 - 577). Under the supervision of Xu Da, one of the founding generals of the Ming Dynasty, the wall was extended from Shanhaiguan in the east all the way to Mutianyu. Follow your knowledgeable guide as you hike up and down, exploring the various watchtowers.

Afterwards, savor a sumptuous local lunch before making your way directly to the Ming Tombs. At the Ming Tombs, you'll visit Dingling. The Ming Tombs, which mainly consist of thirteen tombs of the Ming Dynasty, are dispersed at the foot of Tianshou Mountain. Listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, the Ming Tombs showcase a breathtaking natural landscape and profound historical significance. Dingling was constructed in 1590, and in 1620, Emperor Shen Zong and his empress were interred there. Currently, Dingling Tomb is the most popular among the thirteen as it is the only Ming imperial tomb excavated to date.

Accompanied by your guide, stroll around the area, admire the precious antiques in the museums, and uncover the secrets of the Underground Palace. Once the tour concludes, you'll be driven back to your hotel in Beijing City.
