For many travelers visiting Sichuan, in addition to savoring hotpot, sipping Gaiwan Tea, and catching a glimpse of giant pandas, watching a Sichuan opera performance is an absolute must.

 

Established in 1998, Shu Feng Ya Yun has amassed a collection of numerous renowned Sichuan opera actors and artists. In recent years, it has further joined forces with famous performers from within Sichuan to collaboratively present a nightly “Classic Opera, Folk Art Performance”. This show comprehensively showcases the authentic folk art of Western Sichuan and classic opera, offering a multi - faceted view of the region's cultural gems.

Stunts

Face - Changing: A remarkable highlight of Sichuan opera, the face - changing process is typically accomplished by an actor through various techniques. These include pulling down pre - made masks, smearing greasepaint across their face, or blowing powdery pigments to quickly alter their facial appearance and thus change the face. This unique art form adds a sense of mystery and excitement to the performance.
